A bandsaw is a machine with a long, sharp blade consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal, which is stretched between two or more wheels for tensioning. Advantages of band saws are that they have uniform cutting action, narrow blades which provide less wastage compared to circular saws, and the ability to cut irregular or curved shapes. Blade width and thickness depends on the material being cut.
